love is easy but sustaining it is difficult.

love is easy but sustaining it is difficult.

I am going to open what is in my mind : I am uttely disappointed how one wave of "fashion " raises and swallows another and I am afraid we would be washed away by this tsunami of "western modernity" (a bizarre prehistoric animal made of vaccum of essential things but stuffed with superficial things) Firstly, I think most of our people will not feel ashamed of finding faults with some traditions and rituals linked to our religion naming them "superstitious" etc ...but when it comes to marriage , they will search a "homely" girl meaning she should be in accordance with what our hindu texts describe of a " pathni" girl. Even people like MK KARUNANIDHI fell on the feet of Gurus and his wives (!) used to go to KALI temple etc but when they talk , they will show only the atheist side of their face...secondly , most of our youths like christian names and think they can become chrisitan to be in tune with the modern world, but than unlike a chinese they lack self-respect and they just have become a "macaulay education product" without even being aware of this invisible process going on in them and in the society. when you don't respect something, and you keep on neglecting it , even if it were your beloved mother, she will one day decide to break away with you and depart from you...When i was alone in a student's room somewher in a cold country, I read ERIC FROMM an author who said something wise (there are yet some western people who have genuine love of hinduism and because of that love , they seem to become wise like our ancestors ) : IT is not enough to say 'I love roses" but you should also regularly shower water on your rose plant. WE LOVE ROSES BUT WE DON't WANT TO WATER THEM REGULARLY. Than, we should be franck to admit that our love is not authentic or genuine. If you love someone, it is not enough to say "I love you" but you should work and sweat litteraly to prove that ..YOUR WHOLE LIFE . That second part is not so attractive but that is the core life of love. So, il you say you are Hindu , that is not sufficient...but you have to do something for this fragile plant whose life is really in danger and when it will be no more there, your "raison d'tre' on this planet earth would have disappeared also....iF YOU CALL sanatana dharma your religion (mother religion) than you should work and respect it as your mother. It is time we throw the idea that our religion is indestrucutible (as some of my ignorant brahmin friends used to boast of ) because in KERALA AND IN THE NORTH EAST, the percentage of Hindus has gone dramatically down..
