Accepting others as they are gives you mental stability

Accepting others as they are gives you mental stability

Meditation is not for just 30 minutes but it should enter in to our breathing space and remain with us during our waking hours too. we should always be as aware and mindful as a guardian potector of our inner space or like a watchman on a high tower looking on everthing with a bird's view. But, inspite of our vigilance and awareness , we may let in some unwanted sensations. Anything may take us offguard in a shana. Some body can say something or do something that is not in accordance with your inner values or what you expect unconciously from others or just may cause you some unnecessary work or add to your discomfort. First, if you expect certain things make it a "code of what I want from others" , that will be an invisible pair of glasses through which you look every one and every thing they do...that is the most dangerous thing you may do to yourself . Just break those glasses and look every one as they are and as they want themeselves to be and not what you want them to be. Do you want roses to be like roses or in some other colour you fancy ? Do you want tiger to have stripes or without stripes and without teeth ? Do you want your wife, children, Guru or friend to be as they are as you want them to be ?

Let beauty arise itself from beauty naturally and spontaneously. Celebrate the difference of the other. Imagine a world everyone is an automat , a robot behaving as you want...would you be happy in that world ? Sometimes, people will do a thing they want to do but you may perceive it as irritation; sometimes, when you see others behaving differently as you expected them to behave, your body may produce a chemical reaction like that of adrenalin or some biological reaction which is needed to unleash in you the following feelings like : anger, jealousy, out of cotrol etc..

But, those feelings should make you realise the fundemantal, the universal truth behind them..yes what is that truth ? if you get irritated because of an external event , than you are just a slave , a mental slave tied to that external climate whose change has the power to decide over your life's happiness or it"s absence. If you want to be really free, depend don't depend upon other human beings or any external material or immaterial things.

Do you want to live a whole precious life as slave or free ? Than take every step towards that goal of freedom. Say to yourself," now onwards, nothing can dictate it's terms and conditions over my life. I am the sole proprietor of my life." This simple example of irritation's influence over us should reveal to us that of all the virtues inaction and absence of reaction should be maintained when you face irritation. You should be patient with mood changes of others and be actionless.

Be still and silent when you see their mind jumping from say a happy mood to a depressing complaining mood..you should show utter equanimity of thoughts and sensations; if you don't want to be chained as a slave to external stimuli and occurences, be in the "driver seat " of your inner space. why choose to be a puppet on a string dancing to someother's tune ? Being a silent spectator is the real solution to attain permanent inner peace; because, mood swing is a sign of mental suffering deep inside and the only way is to search permanent bliss inside us. So, whenever it is possible and wise, use this technique of silent spectator before an agiated person or an unpleasant event. Absence of action is also action.
