OLIVE OIL is an European product and they know how to sell their product and they fool you with a media hype with scientific proofs etc but they do so with their wine (good for heart) even beef , good for protein and here in France, doctors laugh when you say you do not eat beef, these are all cultural traits from cold countries where geography shapes their eating habits more than anything. So, more than olive oil, let us make attractive our real strong and rich food heritage with sesame oil, so good for your cholesterol. Even coconut, German scientists are doing research on it for many HEALTH remedies. WHEN we think low of our products, they know that they are more valuable than their European equivalents but they will never openly declare it; that is needed here too, economic patriotism. We Indians should add value to our local foods; IF ONLY TODDY , a alcohol form coconut tree, were native to the USA , the Americans would have shown such a pride in drinking toddy that Indians would have long began following that fashion with awe; Americans would have sold it in such a "modern" pack and bottling it so modernly that that it would have beaten whisky. So, all resides in the confidence in your products. For that you need to get rid of your inferiority complex and affirm your "indianness" with pride. Will this happen one day?
