LOSS OF POWER OF THINKING, LOGIC, AND RATIONALITY AMONG PRESENT DAY TAMILS

LOSS OF POWER OF THINKING, LOGIC, AND RATIONALITY AMONG PRESENT DAY TAMILS

The ancient Indians had very good ways of deriving and developing knowledge. The ar...t of thinking and derivation of knowledge and rationalising was in a very advanced state, among the ancient Indians. If the Greeks had only the three stepped approach to Logic, we Indians had six steps. A further step was added by MeykaNdAr in the 13th century. That is why there was so much of material on knowledge - of every available branch. We had the 18 Vidya Sthaanaas, 64 Arts and crafts, 96 types of saastras.
In the composition of poetry, we had so many combinations. We had 96 different types of Prabandha. The Vidya Sthaanaas alone comprised of ever so many branches of knowledge and books.
All this, we could acheive by asking the right type of questions and different approaches in thinking. Our knowledge spread over the world and modified the thinking of other nations.
But then so much is lost now. Its because of restricted single-channel thinking that we have been brain-washed into.
Even the so-called rationalists and atheists have this single-tract thinking. Patterns and patterns of the same type are laid down, over and over again, in their minds. So much so, that whatever fictitious idea attracts their fancy is beleived in staunchly.
