what does it take to be a lion ?
THE power behind the African throne; families protected ; competitors wiped out; lion's supremacy comes only by force;
To be a King, bloody wars must be fought and won;
Instinct drives the lion ; unleashing of fearsome power, it seems unclouded by notions of cruelty, remorse or guilt.
But , it does know with terrifying certainty what it takes to be a LION....awesome opening ..
I love this documentary especially the background voice and music ; it is not just a simple documentary for children ; this is life in it's crudest form that applies even to human beings too; when the two sub adult lions gang up to search a living for themselves , it is the same thing when a young man armed with a university or some degree roaming in the concrete wilderness and suburban buildings of cities in search of a job to be able to eat the next day, to be able to take his morning breakfast quietly and safely inside a flat. LIFE is there everywhere when you know to see and interpret it; In the end , when the two male brothers grown in to full adults , they kill hyena babies and the music background is wonderfully expressing a mixed emotion in between disgust , sadness and admiration. Nearing almost the end of this documentary, the background voice concludes," BRUTAL yes they are, CRUEL of course, but for these big cats, it is what that takes to be lions. Their swadharma is like that and they can not be otherwise, this is what that American says not knowingly that it is from a Vedic notion long ingrained in the spirit of our sacred Nation, "bharat" where they respect you when you fully express and live your potential and grow in to that person for which you have taken birth.
