ARE YOU ADDICTED TO SPEED AND FAST LIFE ?

Are you addicted to speed and fast life eating a fast food on the go. You may think that has something to do with formula 1 automobile race ....
But many of us are addicted not to going faster in our cars but living at a terrible inhuman speed in our real life and that may be because we are simply afraid to slow down ...we love our chaotic and frenzied way of living and slowing is  impossible. we are in constant motion not only physically but also mentally. That may take many forms : you may be early to come and late to quit your office, you may be using your computer all the time , sending e-mail and calling or verifying messages and doing all these things at the same time...by constantly updating your technical know how about all electronic devices, you have only become a perfect client to all those MNCs who finance presidential elections which is one of their main credential.
That behavior is just like that of an alcoholic who cannot stop drinking or that of a drug addict who can not stop smoking ...
Researchers say that working 50-hour a week can make you a "workaholic" whose mental and physical health are stretched to their tearing point.
CONSEQUENCES of this addiction : a workaholic skips meals and entangles himself in an imbroglio in his relationships with his family as well as colleagues and falls in to depression.
Western culture uses "greed" as gas-oil  to drive it's consumer based society. It encourages and even demands that people work more, produce more and never stop till their last breadth.
Indian society once used to know what is silence and what is being slow in our thoughts, words and actions ; In my south Indian village, somewhere near PONNERI when sitting on a "thinai" I used to admire the calm evening wind and all that sensation of tranquility will overwhelm me as a surfer is swallowed by a huge wave .I   used to look at a sunset while an antique train crosses a distant bridge with a whistling sound "koooooo" and when I walk in the sandy narrow street , i may cross some bicycles or some bullock carts  never a car ..in the 70s..Time is a relative thing then. A day may seem a year and now even a year seems a day. The more slow you live, the longer you live in that relative time and also as a side effect, in the real time. The slow tortoise seems to live 100 years without any problem. Just see some one do TAI CHI which consist of breaking in to pieces one simple action for example taking a cup of water and bringing it to your lips. Try to break that action in to pieces , please try seriously, you will see calmness filling you instantly. Or, try to walk very slowly inch by inch by imitating a tiger that moves inch by inch inside the bush before jumping upon it's prey. Take deep breaths while doing those TAI CHI movements.
we may think that being always in motion is working in the right way.
 Faster is not always synonymous to efficiency and professionalism.
We should not forget how quiet moments and calm atmosphere can be soothing and stop even ageing. Let us spend half an hour in relaxation listening to the birds if you happen to be in a calm forest area or just be one with the nature in whatever form it may appear at your doorstep.

NB; let us hope we will be left with some nature after all these fast track clearances of pollution projects by congress especially one ex-minster of environment ,famous for her "jayanthi tax".. Those who can pay her with cash can clear their  worst polluting project in 3 seconds;
